Deputy Director(KVI) office, Zilla Panchayath Industrial wing was working under Zilla Parishath upto 1987. Lateron from 1993, this office is working under Zilla Panchayath, serving rural based artisans, supporting and helping rural based cottage industries.

Distribution of free improved Tool kits to Artisans engaged in black smithy,carpentary,stone cutting,masinery,dhobi,barbar and helping them in carrying out economical activities.

Distribution of free Tool kits worth Rs. 5000/- ( Maximum) to artisans working in crafts like, carpenter, blacksmith, stonecutting masinery, barbar and dhobi.

Seminars,Blocklevel Awareness Programme and Exhibitions.

Providing information regarding Departmental schemes and providing Technical support.

Interest Subsidy: 

Under the scheme, interest subsidy over and above 7% upto 12%, maximum 5% will be given to Artisans to be loan obtained from commercial, scheduled Banks

Zilla Udyma Kendra(Investment Subsidy)

to purse the activties of the artisans, under Ruals Artisanas Proggramme (RAP) svhme finacial assistans up to Rs 30000 in the from of the loan will be provided tob the artisans though per which subsidy to extent of 60% maximum Rs 10000 will be orovided by the department.

Main Purpose of Department

Distribution of free improved Tool kits to Rural Artisans worth Rs. 5000/- to crafts like, Carpentary, Black smithy, stone cutting, masinery etc., Providing interest subsidy to Rural Artisans over and above 7%, maximum 5%. Providing Bee-keeping training of 7 days to farmers with own plantation and interest. Also bee boxes will be provided under 50% subsidized rate.

1) Organising Activities and Duties

Deputy Director (KVI) offices ,zliia pachayath ,tumkur was working under parisgath upto 1987.lateron from 1993 ,this offices is working under zilla pachayath, in servicing rual based artisans supporting and helpling rural based cottage industies.

2 and 3) Offiecrs and employees and their duties and decision taken by officers while implementing,chemes ,guidelines and other mode of supervisor.

Industrial extension officers are the field level officers working at taluk level and they are submitting the proposals of differnt schemes accordind to action plan or in either the beneficiaries to submit their proposals directly to the office to the first divisioncleark.After examing all the proposed details by first divisioncleark and it will be sanctioned by the Deputy Dorector(KVI).If in case of needs any saction from Zilla PAnchayth or Chief executive officer santion,it could be taken from the concerned authorities.
